Their colours vary a lot, but those that become available are mostly shades of brown with tinting of powder blue on the edges. Keeping this clam in good health require good (T5’s – clam not lower than 150mm) to brilliant lighting (MH) and regular feeding of phytoplankton. Don’t buy them when they are smaller than 100mm, because babies tend to slowly die away (perhaps they need more phytoplankton or some other food, not available in reef aquariums?)
